The play's the thing at the Orlando Shakespeare Theater, a professional group that stages a full entertainment season each year. The roster of performances includes those penned by the Bard, with a liberal sprinkling of new scripts in the same vein as Shakespeare's stories.
Artifacts, photographs, multimedia presentations, slave records, books and more all serve to tell the story and history of African Americans in the Florida area. The items chronicle the civil rights era and events leading up to it, and all are on display at the Wells' Built Museum.
Meander along the winding paths and fragrant sections of the Harry P. Leu Gardens, a 50-acre segment of landscaped grounds and lakes shaded by 200 year-old oaks and forests of camellias.
Be effortlessly lifted away in a capsule of calm in the Orlando Eye, and serenity to see Orlando in a way you’ve never seen it before. The iconic 400-foot tall observation wheel provides breathtaking views of Central Florida in all directions, with sights of downtown Orlando’s skyline, theme parks, lakes and lush landscape, and on a clear day, views of Cape Canaveral on the east coast.
