Explore the beer making process at Boston's Harpoon Brewery. The brewery was the first to receive a permit to brew and package beer for sale to the public and is very proud to hold Permit No. 1. Tours take place on the weekend and include the opportunity to taste a few of the company's brews. If you'd like to forgo the tour and get straight to the beer, stop by during the week for a tasting.

Wine connoisseurs, get your tickets to Chef Daniel Bruce's Boston Wine Festival, one of the nation's longest-running wine events. This isn't your typical, two-day festival; the festival spans three and a half months and hosts a few events each week. The 23-year-old event features wine tastings, paired with signature dishes created by Chef Bruce. Throughout the history of the Boston Wine Festival, the menu has never been repeated.

Strap on your skates and tear up the ice at the Boston Common Frog Pond. If you're not so good on your feet, sign up for skating lessons; if you know what you're doing with those skates, show off on the ice. Also, the pond features College Night on Tuesdays.
