You can let your wild ones run free at the Como Park Zoo and Conservatory. Admission is free, although donations are suggested. See exhibits and attractions that house the big cats, the primates, the exotic birds, the hoofed creatures, the wild wolves and even polar bears. Head over to the Conservatory afterward to see, smell and possibly taste plants from all over the world.
Spend your night at the city’s most luxurious hotel. The Saint Paul Hotel offers 254 beautifully decorated rooms, including 31 luxury hotel suites, and offers a romantic getaway in its classically designed building. Order a bottle of champagne or delicious food and wine to enjoy in your room, or leave your room for events held in the rest of the hotel.
Saint Paul’s oldest surviving theater, the Fitzgerald Theater has been around since 1910. Once famous for screening foreign films, nowadays Minnesota Public Radio owns the Fitz. You may be familiar with their most popular show, A Prairie Home Companion, which is heard all over the nation. In addition to this radio show, the Fitz hosts all sorts of Broadway musicals, vaudeville shows, film festivals, concerts, and other entertainment.
