In the 1920s, Beulah Adams Marshall, an enterprising individual, transformed the Tarrant County hilltop into a charming tea room and restaurant, drawing in travelers on the Bankhead Highway and locals from the bustling cities of Dallas and Fort Worth. The property's narrative took an unexpected turn during Prohibition when new owners, Fred and Mary Browning, ingeniously expanded it to include a casino, horse barn, and even a clandestine escape tunnel amidst legal restrictions. Today, under the ownership of Arlington Baptist College, the Top O' Hill Terrace stands as a custodian of its storied past, with meticulously preserved historic edifices and grounds showcasing an eclectic mix of sandstone blocks and intricate wrought iron work, offering captivating tours.
