Celebrate Eeyore's Birthday Party every April at Pease Park, where the bizarre and unusual are perfectly normal. This celebration highlights Austin’s lovably odd, free-spirit culture at this iconic annual spring festival. Eeyore’s Birthday Party features games, face painting, henna, temporary tattoos, live music, drum circles, dancing, and singing. Costumes are certainly encouraged. So rummage through the closet for those tutus, fairy wings, hula hoops, and flower crowns.
Experience thousands of species and interactive exhibits at the Austin Aquarium, where they provide children and families access to the excitement and learning opportunities of the ocean without the long trip to the coast. Each of the animal encounters is unique and rewarding. So, whether you are meeting the Ring-tailed or Red Ruffed lemurs for the first time, or feeding the Stingrays, Sharks, Iguanas, Tortoises, Lorikeets, and more, you will find an experience worth your while and make memories that will last a lifetime.
Stop and smell the wildflowers at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center, where they use native plants to restore and create sustainable, beautiful landscapes. Learn how they inspire the conservation of native plants through the gardens, research, education, and outreach programs. In doing so, we improve water quality, provide habitat for wildlife, and enhance human health and happiness.
It's known as the people's mansion, so take a tour of your home-away-from-home at The Governor's Mansion, which is fully furnished with exquisite antiques and artwork. The historic home was built in 1856 and is the oldest continuously occupied executive residence west of the Mississippi. The building is designated a National Historic Landmark.
