Visit the final resting place of Governors, Senators, Legislators, Congressmen, Judges and other legendary Texans at the Texas State Cemetery. Icons such as Stephen F. Austin, General Albert Sidney Johnston, Governor Allan Shivers, Governor John Connally, and Lieutenant Governor Bob Bullock are buried here.

Tour the works of traditional and contemporary arts that present multimedia works by established and emerging artists. The Mexic-Arte Museum also boasts an eclectic museum store, where visitors can take home a piece of Mexican art, wood-carved Oaxacan animals and Michoacan pottery, Day of the Dead pieces, hand-blown glass jewelry, and children's items.

The breathtaking beauty and unusual construction of the Texas Capitol are the stuff of legends in the Lone Star State. View artifacts of Texas history, including the original flag from the Battle of San Jacinto, historical paintings, and some of the original Senator desks from 1888. Take a guided tour through the Capitol Building, which has 400 rooms and more than 900 windows. Then check out the Capitol Grounds, which spans 22 acres featuring historical buildings, 17 monuments, and beautifully landscaped lawns.

Celebrate Eeyore's Birthday Party every April at Pease Park, where the bizarre and unusual are perfectly normal. This celebration highlights Austin’s lovably odd, free-spirit culture at this iconic annual spring festival. Eeyore’s Birthday Party features games, face painting, henna, temporary tattoos, live music, drum circles, dancing, and singing. Costumes are certainly encouraged. So rummage through the closet for those tutus, fairy wings, hula hoops, and flower crowns.
