Located on the last remaining prehistoric Indian Mound in the city, Lake Park is a 138-acre oasis of greenery within the urban landscape. Just north of the Milwaukee Art Museum, this park is home to a lighthouse, several trails and paths, tennis courts, a golf course and a playground. Enjoy the fresh air, beautiful outdoors, and free concerts during the summer.
Enjoy coffee, tea or even wine at a locally owned and operated coffee house. Rochambo offers a relaxed atmosphere where people can enjoy a light snack or desert and beverage. Sit outside and enjoy the weather (if the weather permits) or head upstairs to the warm, cozy room filled with board games and books.
As you make your way down Water Street, be sure to stop in Rosie's Water Works. Serving up some of the best tasting food alongside some of the best drinks and nightlife in Milwaukee has been Rosie's way of business for over 25 years. Be sure to mention if it is your birthday in order to receive a free celebratory drink!
Celebrate North America's largest outdoor French themed festival in downtown Milwaukee! Bastille Days is held annually in July and features impromptu street performances, roaming minstrels, a variety of musical entertainment and a signature 43-foot Eiffel Tower replica. Runners and walkers kick off the festival with the "Storming of the Bastille," a 5-K run and two mile walk.
